What is a BUZZ AROUND GROUP?

We are collecting a list of moms & nannies throughout the greater metro area who would love to have you in their Buzz around group. You would meet at least once a month at the Playseum and from there develop friendships and connections to others in your community. It is free and we hope that through this service parents and kids can connect and new friendships will be born. Come in and look on our metro map and find a Buzz around group near you.

What is a BUZZ AROUND FIELD TRIP?

Buzz around Field Trips provide hands-on learning experiences that expand on concepts integrated into the Playseum adventure nooks. They are designed to meet the developmental needs of young children ages 2 to 11.

Buzz around field trips include:

A 10 minute orientation with age appropriate story time at 11 AM and the option to make a free bouncy ball or plant a seed in the science nook.

Our Playseum is designed like a miniature city beginning with a “Cakes by Leslie Bakery” where kids can also whip up a smoothie or decorate their own cupcake. We have a hardware store with a hands-in sand box and then a tunnel leading to a fire truck and science nook. Our “Safeway Grocery Store” is a great place for kids to encounter nutrition, the food groups, money and social skills with the introduction of adding, sorting, organizing and even finding fun stories with food as the main subject. Our “Bethesda Pet shop” is ideal for learning about animals and how to care for them; from rabbits to birds to frogs. Our “Art Studio” is a place where a child’s creativity and imagination can run free, whether they are painting on the wall or molding something out of clay or one of our recycled items. There are many more adventure rooms from Grandma’s attic that will take you back in time to our musical stage where they can play on drums and pick up a guitar.

Reservations for field trips are allowed after 1pm, Monday through Thursday. The admission fee for a field trip is $7 per child and $5 per adult. The Playseum requires a ratio of 1 adult for every 4 children. Children are encouraged to purchase Playseum dollars in advance to spend in our different rooms (Activities are listed below). If children are 7 or older, they are required to buy a minimum of 3 Playseum dollars to spend on our activities.

Example cost: If you have 45 kids and 11 adults, the cost would be $370 ($315 for kids + $55 for adults, plus additional for playseum dollars.)
